What an absolutely appalling waste of energy it has been to transport these tree stumps all the way from Ghana in the name of ecology. Not only the energy which was used for transportation, but indirectly, the petrol that was wasted in the traffic holdups that were inevitably caused during the progress through London. Quite apart from that, who knows what insects/bacteria/virus which are alien to our native flora may be lurking within these monstrosities.
I find it hard to understand the breathtaking stupidity of the person or persons whose idea this was. It is obvious that this is purely an act of self aggrandisement and has nothing whatever to do with preservation of the environment.
